Claims that only certain candles, like beeswax or soy wax give off negative ions is bullshit

You’ll see in the ad copy of a lot of websites that 'their wax gives off negative ions.'

The concept that we are supposed to believe is that just these special candles will give off just the right amount of these special negative ions to purify your air and make you healthier.

All burning candles are likely to give off the same amount of negative ions. No one has done a real study and published it in peer reviewed scientific literature.

Likewise, I have never found a reliable article that proves negative ion generators, candles or salt lamps offer great health benefits. It makes sense that spending time in a natural environment full of negative ions like a waterfall, or the ocean is healthy; but sitting in a closed room sucking up air from a candle?

That only beeswax or soy candles emit healthy negative ions seems like New Age hype to me.
